Bear Beginnings Shabbat Dinner with Chancellor Andrew D. Martin
Friday, August 20, 5:45 pm | WashU Hillel, 6300 Forsyth Blvd. (night before Move-In)

Celebrate your first college Shabbat at a festive Hillel dinner! Chancellor Andrew D. Martin will join us from 6-6:30 pm, along with other University friends. The kosher dinner is free for first-years, $18 per additional family member. An optional, egalitarian Conservative Shabbat service will follow outdoors. RSVP by Monday, August 16 by clicking here.

Move-In Day Open House | Saturday, August 21, 3:00-5:00 pm | WashU Hillel, 6300 Forsyth
Take a break from move-in with some snacks and cold drinks. Learn about Jewish life on campus, get to know the Hillel staff, and tour our beautiful building. No reservations required!  

Shabbat Services | Friday, August 27, 6pm | WashU Hillel, 6300 Forsyth
Meet up with other students and Hillel student leaders at the South 40 Clocktower at 5:45pm to walk over to Hillel for your choice of Reform or Conservative services.

First Year First Friday Shabbat Dinner | Friday, August 27, 7pm | WashU Hillel, 6300 Forsyth
Take a break from the hustle of Bear Beginnings activities and enjoy a delicious Shabbat cookout and bonfire with new friends, returning student leaders, and the Hillel staff! Come as you are (casual attire welcome) and walk over to Hillel directly or meet up with other students at the South 40 Clocktower at 6:45 pm to walk over together. We'll be cruising around campus on our sweet golf cart to give you a sweet treat during your first day!

Join Hillel Leadership Council and Chabad Student Association for a kosher BBQ on the Lien-Gregg Porch to kick off the year with Jewish students on campus.  Vegetarian options available. Sign up here!

A great time for first years and returning students to connect and enjoy St. Louis' famous Ted Drewes Frozen Custard after the first few days of class!  

Welcome Back Shabbat Dinner | Friday, September 3 | Services at 5:45pm, dinner at 7:00pm | Hillel
Unwind after the first week of classes with Hillel's annual Welcome Back Shabbat Dinner!  Schmooze with other first years and meet returning students over a delicious classic Shabbat meal featuring brisket, mashed potatoes and green beans.  RSVP here by 11:59pm on Wednesday, September 1!


FRESHFEST: Apple Picking Adventure | Sunday, September 12, 10:30am-around 1:30pm | Meet at Hillel
Do you love apples and fun fall days in the country?  Join First Year Students of Hillel (FYSH) as we head to Eckert's to pick our own apples!  Pick some to enjoy with friends and more to donate to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.  Event and transportation are free, but bring $ if you want to purchase or donate apples and other items at the gift shop.  RSVP here by Thursday, Sept 9!

Hillel @ The Cardinals Game! | Sunday, September 19, 10:00am meet-up before the game | Meeting Location TBD
Join friends to cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals as they take on the San Diego Padres!  We'll meet up on campus to get to know one another and travel to Busch Stadium together.  Event is $18 per person and includes your ticket to the game and your choice of a kosher hotdog, pastrami dog or veggie/gf lunch option, plus chips and a drink.  Register here by 11:59pm on Thursday, Sept 16!
